Ocean Awareness Surf Camp

Ages 9-17

Menehune Surf’s Ocean Awareness Camp offers an innovative educational experience for kids ages 9-17. This week long program infuses surf, kayak, and snorkel instruction with guided explorations of the marine and terrestrial ecosystems found at La Jolla Shores. Observe marine mammals in their natural habitats while paddling a kayak! Explore the wonders of the kelp forest wearing a mask and snorkel! Investigate the organisms living in the tide pools near the Scripp’s Pier! Check out coastal bird species while mastering the art of surfing! Each camp day incorporates exciting ocean activities with unique, hands-on lessons that promote ocean awareness and the development of life-long skills. 1:4 instructor to camper ratio

Ocean Awareness Camps run every week from June 16th to August 29th
Monday to Friday: 9:00am to 12:00pm OR 9:00am to 2:00pm

Morning Half-Day Camp
$330.00 per camper
$315.00 per camper (when you register 2-3 campers)
$295.00 per camper (when you register 4 or more campers)

All-Day Camp
$535.00 per camper
$495.00 per camper (when you register 2 or more campers)

Price includes the use of a soft foam surfboard, wetsuit, kayak, paddle, lifejacket, mask, and snorkel.

*Each camper is responsible for bringing their own snack, lunch, and water bottle.
**All campers will receive a Menehune Surf t-shirt at the end of each camp session.

Due to the popularity of our camps and small group sizes, a non-refundable $150.00 deposit is required to secure enrollment.

Week 11: August 25 - 29

Camp Deposit and Final Payment Information
Deposits are required to secure enrollment in any of our camps. Until we receive your deposit, the best we can do is waitlist you for the camp which you desire. All deposits are non-refundable. Final payment is due two weeks before the first day of your camp. No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than two weeks from the start of your camp.
