Locations & Directions

We offer our surf camps at three different locations: La Jolla Shores, Del Mar, and Mission Beach. Ocean Adventure Camp is available at La Jolla Shores only.

At all meeting locations look for our instructors in blue Menehune Surf t-shirts and hats.

La Jolla Shores:

La Jolla Shores from I-5 North:
-Exit La Jolla Parkway/52 West
-Turn right on to La Jolla Shores Drive (there is a gas station, Starbucks, and Subway on the corner)
-Turn left on Avenida de la Playa
-Turn right Camino del Oro and look for the parking lot near Kellogg Park on your left.
-Turn into the parking lot and follow it around until you are at the north end, near the restrooms.
We meet there on the grass next to the restrooms and showers for pick-up and drop-off. We walk as a group to and from the pick-up and drop-off location to our beach site which is located directly in front of the third residential home, under a white shade canopy.

La Jolla Shores from I-5 South:
-Exit La Jolla Village Drive
-Turn right on La Jolla Village Drive
-Turn left on to Torrey Pines Rd.
-At the bottom of the hill, keep right at the fork to stay on Torrey Pines Rd.
-Turn right on to La Jolla Shores Drive (there is a gas station, Starbucks, and Subway on the corner)
-Turn left on Avenida de la Playa
-Turn right Camino del Oro and look for the parking lot near Kellogg Park on your left.
-Turn into the parking lot and follow it around until you are at the north end, near the restrooms.

-52 West turns into La Jolla Parkway

Del Mar:

Del Mar from I-5 South:
-Take Exit 36 for Via de la Valle
-Turn right on to Via de la Valle
-Turn left on to Camino Del Mar/Hwy 1
-Turn turn right (west) on to 15th street.
-Turn right (north) on to Coast Blvd and follow it down the hill until you reach 18th street.
-Turn left on to 18th street. Our instructors will be waiting at the end of the block for check-in and check-out.


Del Mar from I-5 North:
-Take Exit 34 for Del Mar Heights Rd.
-Turn left on to Del Mar Heights Rd.
-Turn right on to Camino Del Mar/Hwy 1
-Turn right (west) on to 15th street.
-Turn right (north) on to Coast Blvd and follow it down the hill until you reach 18th street.
-Turn left on to 18th street. Our instructors will be waiting at the end of the block for check-in and check-out.


Mission Beach:

Mission Beach from I-5 South:
-Exit Sea World Drive/Tecolote Rd.
-Merge onto W. Mission Bay Drive via the ramp to Ingraham St/Mission Beach
-Take the ramp onto W. Mission Bay Drive
-Turn left onto Mission Blvd. (You will pass the Belmont Park rollercoaster on your right.)
-Continue on Mission Blvd all the way down until it ends (it will come to a "T")
-Turn right at N. Jetty Rd. into the parking lot and follow the arrows to the north end of the lot.
We meet near the bathrooms for pick-up and drop-off. From there, we walk the campers to the camp site, which is just north of the lifeguard tower.

To Mission Beach from I-5 North:
-Exit 8 West toward Beaches
-See directions below from East County, starting with I-8 West

 To Mission Beach from East County:
-Take I-8 West
-Take the W. Mission Bay Drive exit towards Sports Arena Blvd.
-Turn right at W. Mission Bay Drive
-Take the ramp onto W. Mission Bay Drive
-Turn left at Mission Blvd. (You will pass the Belmont Park rollercoaster on your right.)
-Continue on Mission Blvd all the way down until it ends (it will come to a "T")
-Turn right at N. Jetty Road. into the parking lot and follow the arrows to the north end of the lot.

-Start on Nimitz Blvd and continue straight onto Sunset Cliffs Blvd.
-Merge onto W. Mission Bay Drive via the ramp to Ingraham St.
